Market day 2 fall 2011

This quilt to the left may be the new Block of the month quilt on Wednesdays starting in June 2012.
It is called Amish with a Twist. The fabric is solids by Marcus Brothers, and The quilt designer is Nancy Rink. Let me know what you think. I fell in love at first sight, and if the border applique is a little scary, we can adjust that. I was thinking graduated flying geese.

This is a kids panel that is from Riley Blake. It's anticipated delivery to www.susieqquilting.com in February.

This was Nancy Peters' choice fabric of the day. We both thought it would be great for boys T-shirt Quilts. What do you think Cheri and Shannon?

Oh well enough for now. Time to hit the bed. Nancy and I stayed up too late last night watching the Cardinals win and then we has to do a little celebrating too. Don't for get Saturday Nov 5th is Demo Day at Susie Q Quilting.

Quilt Market - Fall 2011

So.. Day one of quilt market is Schoolhouse where we go around to 15 different 15-30 minute marketing presentations by vendors. This is any vendor who wants to do a presentation can. Nancy Peters accompanied me to market, so some of these comments are her opinions. Nancy's favorite thing she wants me to order is a book called Circle of Nine. It is one simple setting that looks different with many kinds of blocks. Here is a picture of the book. We will be getting it in the store soon.

So what was my favorite thing today. Pink flowered fabric what a surprise. I still don't know when it is coming in, but I loved this line. I will show you a few pictures. The first is just big Pink Hollyhocks, and then a quilt made with the collection.

So it was day one and that was our favorite things. We sill be back tomorrow with more fun items. The baseball game is getting Nancy and I stressed. Time to eat some more chocolate. Game 7 top of the 8th Cards winning 6 to 2. Go Cards!

Easy and Fun Buggy Barn Quilt Class

Here are the pictures from the Buggy Barn Class. I always knew that these would be fun and easy quilts to make, but the directions are mostly words, and not pictures so I had problems understanding them. I know I can read, but reading words that are giving me visual directions does not come naturally. If you like these pictures Nancy Peter's is teaching another class on Nov 4th. You can pick any pattern from any book that Buggy Barn has written. It is the method that is what you have to learn. Once you learn the method, you can make any of their quilts. If you go to their website and click on their books, they will show you a picture of every quilt in each book. The books are from $15-$22. I can order them for you. You can also make the hearts which is just a pattern, and I have that in stock. s http://webstore.quiltropolis.net/stores_app/Browse_dept_items.asp?Shopper_id=107101714437107&Store_id=425&Page_id=17&categ_id=37&parent_ids=0,36&name=Books

You can try this link. or http://www.buggybarnquilts.com/. Then go to books, original and it will show you all the patterns in each book. There is also a picture of a completed quilt on my website. http://www.susieqquilting.com/classes.htm.

Here is a picture of the class.

I am almost done with my stocking quilt. As many of you know I am not a big fan of scrappy, so my stocking quilt is not as scrappy as most. Another note most of these patterns use on fat quarter per block. I have not finished sewing these blocks together because the pattern calls for a snowball corner in each block creating an on point square. It would be red. If you feel like commenting you can tell me if you think it should have the red square, or should I use that space and put big green Christmas trees in the quilting?
